Lyca Kovai Kings on Fire After Securing Second Win

Lyca Kovai Kings earned their second victory after beating Chepauk Super Gillies in Dindigul. Opting to field first, Lyca Kovai restricted Chepauk to a below-par total of 126-8 in their 20 overs thanks to tight bowling spells from several bowlers.

V Yudheeswaran was the star with the ball, picking up 3 crucial wickets for just 29 runs. However, Thamarai Kannan was economical in his 4 overs spell, conceding just 21 runs while bowling 17 dot balls and taking 1 wicket. Jhatavedh also bowled tightly, finishing his 3 over spell at an economy rate of 3.33.

The chase started slowly for Lyca Kovai as openers Sachin and Suresh Kumar put on an uneasy 29-run stand before Sachin was dismissed for 14 runs. But Suresh steadied the ship with a well-compiled 47 before falling with the score at 78. That set the platform for young gun Sai Sudarshan who then tore into the Chepauk attack, blasting an unbeaten 64 off just 43 balls to steer his side to victory with eight wickets and 5.3 overs to spare.

Sudarshan’s match-winning knock included 9 fours and a six as he punished the Chepauk bowlers. His quick-fire innings meant Lyca Kovai Kings making their second victory of the season. They will aim to make it three when they battle Ballsy Trichy on June 21 in Dindigul.
