Lyca Kovai Kings Defeat All to Remain Undisputed Champions in Finals

The Lyca Kovai Kings defeated the Nellai Royal Kings by a massive 104 runs in the TNPL final to win their second consecutive title. They displayed complete dominance in all departments to overpower their opponents.

Opting to bat first, LKK got off to a shaky start as they lost S Sujay and B Sachin cheaply to Sandeep Warrier’s tight bowling. However, J Suresh Kumar (57) and U Mukilesh (51) steadied the innings with a fine 71-run partnership for the third wicket. Atheeq ur Rahman then provided the late fireworks, smashing a destructive 50 that came off very few balls. His explosive batting alongside Mukilesh’s steady innings boosted LKK past the 200-run mark. LKK at the end of the first innings posted an impressive total of 205 for 5.

In response, NRK found run-scoring difficult as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Jhathavedh was the star with the ball, claiming 4/21 in a superb spell including a superb one-handed catch. Captain Shah Rukh Khan contributed 3/16 at an economy rate of 4.00, utilizing the conditions well.

The NRK batting fell under pressure and they were bowled out for 101, falling 104 runs short. Jathavedh’s all-round brilliance earned him the Man of the Match award. Their dominance with both bat and ball overwhelmed NRK, highlighting LKK’s complete domination of the entire final.
